Built On
Service
Harlan, IA
After serving 13 years in the military, I carried forward the discipline, patience, and dedication it instilled in me. In 2013, I began facing health challenges connected to my service in the Persian Gulf War, and by 2023, working outside the home was no longer possible. Rather than give up, I chose to reinvent myself in a way that honored my love of music and craftsmanship.
As a lifelong guitar player and tinkerer, I pursued formal training at the Southeast Guitar Repair Academy and transformed a room in my home into a professional shop. That’s how 5th Street Guitar Repair was born.
Today, I repair and service a wide range of fretted instruments—including guitars, ukuleles, banjos, mandolins, violins, and cellos—and also provide parts for fellow musicians. Every instrument is treated with honesty, care, and respect because I believe in building trust through transparency, serving each customer with excellence, and fostering a community where music can thrive.
Looking ahead, I hope to extend this work beyond repairs, using 5th Street as a platform to reach and uplift disadvantaged members of the community—proving that music has the power to heal and connect us all.
